Tuesday, April 24, 2007
Rue Education, which specializes in developing materials for adult learners pursuing fully accredited nursing degrees through independent study, has been named a preferred provider of independent study materials by The American Assembly for Men in Nursing (AAMN), a partnership that will help build awareness and provide educational support for men pursuing a career in nursing.
“The American Assembly for Men in Nursing is pleased to recognize Rue Education as a preferred provider. AAMN’s mission is to support men in nursing,” said Demetrius Porche, DNS, President AAMN. “The recognition of Rue Education as a preferred provider of directed learning systems provides men in nursing with an opportunity to advance their nursing education.”
AAMN (www.aamn.org) provides a framework for nurses to meet, discuss and influence factors that affect men as nurses. The organization encourages men to become nurses, supports their professional growth and advocates for education and research on issues surrounding men’s health and men in the nursing profession.
“Rue Education places great emphasis on securing the future of America’s nurses, in part by providing resources to assist organizations such as AAMN in their efforts to protect, promote and support the nursing profession,” said Michael Dykstra, CEO, Rue Education (www.RueEd.com). “We look forward to working with AAMN to increase awareness of and membership in the organization and to support the advancement of men in the field of nursing.”
As an AAMN preferred provider, Rue Education will provide grants and an annual scholarship to assist association members in pursuit of their nursing educations. The company will also provide financial support to the AAMN’s Annual Conference.
